The regular season ended for all the remaining affiliates except the Idaho Falls Chukars on Monday, with three of the five clubs in action finishing their seasons on winning notes. In Northwest Arkansas, Clint Robinson went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, winning the Texas League's Triple Crown with a .335 batting average, 29 home runs, and 98 RBIs. AAA: Omaha 9, Oklahoma City 1

W: Matt Herges (9-4, 4.63)

The O-Royals won their regular-season finale, defeating the RedHawks, 9-1. Marc Maddox smacked a double and a triple, while Irving Falu also had a two-hit game with a triple. Scott Thorman, Ed Lucas and Jordan Parraz each had multi-hit games. Mike Moustakas was 1-for-6 and finished his half at Omaha with a final line of .293/.314/.564 with 15 home runs and 48 RBIs in 52 games. Matt Herges tossed the first six frames, giving up one run on five hits while striking out four. Josh Rupe, Brian Anderson and Tim Collins each threw a scoreless inning of relief.

Despite finishing 81-63 – the club’s best record since 1999 – Omaha’s season is over. The O-Royals finished one game behind the Iowa Cubs and the division champion Memphis Redbirds.




AA: NW Arkansas 9, Tulsa 0

W: Eduardo Paulino (8-5, 4.04)

Clint Robinson went 2-for-2 with a double on Monday, securing the Texas League Triple Crown as the Naturals won 9-0 over the drillers in their final game of the regular season. Derrick Robinson went 3-for-5 with two doubles, and Ryan Eigsti also had a multi-hit game. Anthony Seratelli, Johnny Giavotella and Chris McConnell each added a double. Eduardo Paulino threw six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk while ringing up five batters. Patrick Keating, Henry Barrera, and Brandon Sisk each threw a shutout inning of relief to end the game.

NW Arkansas has Tuesday off before starting a best-of-five playoff series against the Springfield Cardinals.




High-A: Frederick 14, Wilmington 8

L: Aaron Crow (2-3, 5.93)
HR: Nick Francis (16)

Aaron Crow was lit up in the final game of the season, allowing eight runs on ten hits while fanning seven batters over 4.2 innings as the Blue Rocks lost 14-8 to the Keys. Ryan Dennick and Eric Basurto each gave up one run, combining to pitch the next 2.1 innings. Bryan Paukovits gave up four runs on five hits over the final two frames. On offense, Christian Colon went 3-for-5 with a double and a triple, while Nick Francis smashed a double and a home run. Salvador Perez had four hits, and Wil Myers smacked two doubles.

Wilmington finished the second half of the season over .500, going 36-32. The Blue Rocks’ overall record was 68-70, and the club missed the Carolina League playoffs for just the fourth time in 18 years.




Low-A: Burlington 7, Clinton 6

W: Starling De La Rosa (1-1, 5.09)
HR: Deivy Batista (6)

Alex McClure hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth, giving the Bees a 7-6 win over the LumberKings in their regular season finale. Whit Merrifield went 3-for-5 with a double, and Deivy Batista went 2-for-4 with a home run. Fernando Crux had two hits, including a double, while Carlo Testa and Ben Theriot also added doubles. Matt Mitchell pitched the first 6.1 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits while striking out nine batters. Rodolfo Encarnacion and Starling De La Rosa held the LumberKings scoreless over the final 2.2 innings.

Burlington finished 24-43 in the second half of the season, and 46-90 overall.




Rookie: Casper 8, Idaho Falls 4

L: Greg Billo (4-8, 5.59)
HR: Malcom Culver (4)

Greg Billo was hit hard Monday, allowing eight runs on eleven hits over 4.2 innings as the Chukars fell to the Ghosts, 8-4. Tyler Graham and Michael Mariot combined to shut out the Ghosts over the final 3.2 innings. At the plate, Jovan Pickett had three hits, while Malcom Culver went yard for the Chukars. Juan Polonia, Justin Trapp and Michael Liberto each had two hits, with Polonia and Murray Watts adding doubles.

Idaho Falls plays the second game of its final series against Casper Tuesday night.
