Eigsti reassigned to minor league camp

Kansas City on Tuesday continued trimming down its big league camp roster, reassigning catcher Ryan Eigsti to the minor league camp.

The 25-year-old backstop was the Royals' 15th round selection in the 2007 draft, and he began the 2010 season with Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

He played in just 13 games for the Naturals, however, missing most of the season after suffering a fractured forearm in April. In four seasons with the organization, Eigsti has a career batting line of .209/.307/.309 with 14 home runs and 86 RBIs in 808 at bats.

The move brings the Royals' big league camp roster down to 60 players. Expect more cuts soon.
