The Omaha Storm Chasers won their eighth straight game behind some timely hitting and a magnificent effort from Everett Teaford and Luis Mendoza. Meanwhile, the Wilmington Blue Rocks extended their lead over their division with an 8-1 triumph over Lynchburg. NW Arkansas was rained out for the fourth time in five days, while Kane County fell to a hot Cedar Rapids team. Read the day's report inside.

Low-A: Cedar Rapids 6, Kane County 1

L: Sugar Ray Marimon (0-2, 5.74)
HR: None

Brief Summary: The Kane County offense managed just one run on four hits in Monday’s 6-1 loss to Cedar Rapids. Lane Adams stroked a double, while Murray Watts RBI single in the sixth inning provided all the scoring the Cougars could manage on the day.

Other Notes: Reliever Jon Keck surrendered his first run of the season in the fifth inning. However, the run was unearned, so his ERA is still a perfect 0.00 through 8.0 innings pitched.

Next Game: The Cougars (7-11) and Kernels (11-6) meet up again Tuesday night for the second game of their three-game set. Leondy Perez (0-2, 2.00) will start for Kane County.
