Triple-A: Las Vegas 11, Omaha 7
L: Blaine Hardy (1-2, 7.16)
HR: Lucas May (1), Lorenzo Cain (3)
Summary: The Storm Chasers were swept away on Sunday afternoon, thanks largely to an ineffective and shorthanded bullpen. The 51s broke a 3-3 tie with five runs off of reliever Blaine Hardy in the seventh inning, and then added three more over the final two frames against Lucas May, who had started the game at catcher. Starter Vin Mazzaro pitched well, logging a “quality” start in his first appearance since surrendering a record 14 runs in 2.1 innings for the Royals last week. On offense, Clint Robinson extended his hitting streak to nine games, while May and Lorenzo Cain both homered.
Other Notes: The Chasers had just two relievers available for Sunday’s game – Hardy and Jesse Chavez. Manager Mike Jirschele opted not to use the latter, because doing so would have forced the club to give Chavez three days of rest, per the organization’s rule for pitchers who throw in three out of four games. Therefore, Lucas May got the call…David Lough and Kila Ka’aihue both remained sidelined by shoulder injuries. Ka’aihue last played on Thursday, while Lough has been out of action since May 13…Clint Robinson has reached base safely in 14 straight games.
Next Game: The first place Storm Chasers (23-20) look to regroup as they continue their homestand on Monday with a four-game set against the Tucson Padres (19-25). Kevin Pucetas (3-1, 4.26) is scheduled to start the opener for Omaha.

Double-A: NW Arkansas 9, Arkansas 5
W: Edgar Osuna (4-1, 6.82)
S: Kelvin Herrera (2)
HR: Jamie Romak (5)
Summary: The Naturals erupted for six runs in the fifth inning, coming from behind to defeat their in-state rivals, 9-5. NW Arkansas starter Edgar Osuna picked up his fourth victory of the year despite surrendering four runs in five innings of work, while Kelvin Herrera notched his second Double-A save. Shortstop Christian Colon paced the Naturals’ 11-hit attack, snapping an 0-for-14 skid by going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. With the win, the Naturals moved within a half game of first place Tulsa.
Other Notes: After starting the season in the NW Arkansas rotation, Heath Rollins has been quite good in his last four outings, all in relief. The 25-year-old right-hander has surrendered just one run on three hits in 9.2 innings out of the bullpen…Since returning from the disabled list, Derrick Robinson is 1-for-8 with five strikeouts. Robinson missed three weeks with a strained groin.
Next Game: The Naturals (21-18) and Travelers (19-20) wrap up their series with a doubleheader on Monday afternoon. Chris Dwyer (1-3, 5.82) and Eduardo Paulino (1-0, 3.16) are slated to start the two games for NW Arkansas.

High-A: Wilmington 3, Myrtle Beach 1
W: Michael Mariot (5-0, 1.29)
HR: None
Summary: The piggyback duo of Noel Arguelles and Michael Mariot won for the seventh time in eight tries on Sunday as the Blue Rocks defeated the Pelicans, 3-1. The victory – Wilmington’s seventh straight – completes a three-game sweep over Myrtle Beach. The offensive heroics on Sunday came with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, when a line drive single by Carlo Testa plated Whit Merrifield with the go-ahead run. Testa then scored an insurance tally on Rey Navarro’s RBI double.
Other Notes: Prior to the game, the Blue Rocks added Cuban outfielder Yem Prades and released Adrian Ortiz. Read our report on the transaction here. Prades finished his professional debut 2-for-3, and Blue Rocks announcer John Sadak reports the athletic 23-year-old “tracked down some tough balls” in the outfield…Carlo Testa destroyed Pelicans pitching, going 7-for-13 during the series with four extra base hits and six RBIs. Since being moved to the second spot in the Blue Rocks lineup, Testa has hit .358 (19-for-53) while raising his season batting average to .312…In 39.0 innings pitched this season, Noel Arguelles has fanned 28 batters while walking just four, giving him an outstanding 7-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Next Game: The first place Blue Rocks (26-16) now play host to the second place Frederick Keys (23-19) for a three-game set at Frawley Stadium. Elisaul Pimentel (3-1, 4.23) is scheduled to start Monday’s opener for Wilmington.

Low-A: Kane County 4, Beloit 0
W: Jason Adam (1-0, 2.19)
HR: Travis Jones (1)
Summary: Making his second career start, Kane County’s Jason Adam was sensational on Sunday, holding the Beloit Snappers to just three hits in eight shutout innings while notching his first professional victory. The 19-year-old right-hander fanned six without issuing a walk, and he retired 16 of the final 17 batters he faced. Reliever Chase Boruff pitched a perfect ninth, preserving the Cougars’ 4-0 shutout. On offense, Gerard Hall and Alex Llanos both finished 2-for-5, while catcher Travis Jones touched off his first home run of the season with a solo shot in the second inning.
Other Notes: Jake Kuebler is just 1-for-15 since being assigned to Kane County from extended spring training…After a rough start, Travis Jones is hitting a very respectable .273/.351/.394 over his last 10 games. Perhaps equally encouraging, the young catcher has committed just one passed ball all season…Chase Boruff has now made five straight scoreless appearances out of the Cougars’ pen, a stretch covering 8.0 innings. Over that span, he has surrendered just two hits and one walk while fanning six.
Next Game: The Cougars (18-26) have now won three straight games, and nine of their last 12. On Monday, they’ll look to complete a four-game sweep of Beloit (21-22). Sugar Ray Marimon (3-2, 2.75) is scheduled to start for Kane County, looking to build upon his last start when he pitched 7.2 innings of a combined no-hitter against Cedar Rapids.
