After defeating the Tigers 10-2 Tuesday night, the Royals announced they are bringing up six players from their Class AAA Omaha affiliate that won the Pacific Coast League championship.
Omaha lost 8-3 to Columbus, the International League champions, on Tuesday night in the Triple-A National Championship Game in Albuquerque.
Only two of the six -- outfielder Lorenzo Cain and right-handed reliever Kelvin Herrera -- have not played for Kansas City this season. Cain, one of four players the Royals acquired from the Brewers in the Zack Greinke trade last December, hit .312 with 16 home runs, 81 RBI and 16 steals in 128 games for Omaha.
Herrera, 21, went 7-1 with 14 saves and a 1.60 ERA over a combined 45 relief appearances in Class A, Class AA and Class AAA this season.
The others coming up are right-handers Vin Mazzaro and Sean O'Sullivan, catcher Manny Pina and outfielder Jarrod Dyson.
Mazzaro went 7-2 with a 4.29 ERA in 22 starts with Omaha, while O'Sullivan was 8-2 with a 4.22 ERA in 14 starts. Pina hit .238 in 68 games. Dyson hit .279 while stealing 38 bases in 40 attempts.
O'Sullivan was the losing pitcher Tuesday against Columbus, allowing six runs on six hits in three innings.
Manager Ned Yost said he wants to see Cain in the outfield in the final games. He said either Mazzaro or O'Sullivan would start Sept. 27 at Minnesota.
More troops are on their way to Kansas City. The Royals made the moves after the Omaha Storm Chasers completed their 2011 campaign.

Pina is one of six to receive the call.
