Chad Rogers came to the Reds as an unheralded prospect from a 28th round selection in 2010. Since then he's shed the late-round stigma as he ascended up their system. Rotation depth in the organization will likely start him off in AA where he'll get opportunity to make a case for a move to Louisville by the end of 2013.

Often the odds are against late-round selections. They aren't prominently projected in the team's future and they compete for playing time against others with higher expectations.
