The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
As a life-long Cincinnati Reds fan, I can admire a franchise that shares a fierce rivalry with the St. Louis Cardinals.
This summer I will cover the Lexington Legends for RoyalCurve.com, sharing information and telling stories about the players who may one day grace Kauffman Stadium.
The Legends are in their 13th season in Lexington, having sent a total of 47 players to the major league level during that time. Despite this being the first year of affiliation, two former Legends are current Royals, pitchers J. C. Gutierrez and Felipe Paulino. Seven current Astros, with whom the Legends were affiliated for the previous 12 years, once played for Lexington.
I have written about sports (primarily University of Kentucky athletics) for The Kentucky Kernel, Lexington Herald-Leader and The Louisville Courier-Journal, and recently graduated from UK with a journalism degree.
This should be an outstanding summer at Whitaker Bank Park in Lexington - a new team, new coaches and plenty of big-league prospects. Join me on Twitter (@LegendsLes) and here at RoyalCurve.com for coverage all season.
