Chris Lubanski extended his hitting streak to eight games on Monday with a 3rd inning double. Third baseman Ed Lucas has quietly put together a solid season, and he's also carrying an 8-game hitting streak. Carlos Rosa turned in another good performance, going five innings while only allowing two runs. Greg Atencio finished off the the game with three scoreless innings, but the Wichita offense couldn't get the job done. The loss takes the Wranglers to an even .500 on the season, at 19-19.

The Wilmington offense struggled again as it has all season, managing seven baserunners and no runs. Fortunately, there has been one sparking spot in the lineup, and his name is Marc Maddox. He apparently has forgotten the competition is supposed to get tougher as you jump a level, as his average jumped up to .333 in his time in Wilmington. Gilbert de la Vara is quietly putting together a solid season in relief, sporting a 0.48 ERA and averaging a strikeout per inning.

The Bees finally broke their losing streak on Monday, led by the strong pitching performance in the late innings from Brent Fisher. Piggybacking with Ryan Di Pietro, Fisher only allowed two baserunners in five strong innings of work. This marks Fisher's second consecutive strong outing, which is encouraging given his slow start this season. On the defensive side of the spectrum, Joe Dickerson made an error that led to an unearned run in the 6th inning. However, he ultimately made up for it in the 9th inning, tying the game on one swing with a home run to right field.
