Wichita was off on Monday, but the other three clubs were in action. Wilmington moved into a first place tie with their victory on Monday, and the Omaha Royals rode two home runs and five RBIs by Craig Brazell to a win over the Oklahoma RedHawks. Inside, RC recaps all of Monday's minor league action from around the organization in today's report.

Omaha came back home in style on Monday, downing Oklahoma 8-1. The story of the night was Craig Brazell, as he went 4-for-5 while going deep twice and driving in five. Brazell is now second the minors with 14 home runs, seven each in Wichita and Omaha. Billy Butler has a 5-game hitting streak since returning to Omaha, while registering seven walks to only three strikeouts. Matt Tupman is also a man with a hot bat, sporting a .394 average in his last 10 games.

The Wichita Wrangers had the day off on Monday. They hit the road on Tuesday with a 21-23 record to take on Frisco.

After a slow start early in April, Wilmington third baseman Mario Lisson has gone on an assault of Carolina League pitching. Lisson currently is batting .417 in his last 10, and is a robust seven for his last 13 at the plate. With his outing tonight, reliever Gilbert de la Vara has not allowed an earned run in his last nine appearences, while striking out 14 in as many innings. With the win tonight, Wilmington moved into a first place tie in the Carolina League Northen division.

Brent Fisher gutted through another tough outing on Monday, allowing 10 baserunners while only striking out one batter. Jeff Bianchi had a couple of hits, upping his season aveage to .241. Kurt Mertins, who stumbled out of the gate, seems to be picking up the pace, as he added three hits and is now batting .355 in his last 10 games.
