RC Organizational Report: May 23

Omaha was rained out on Wednesday, and the Wranglers were shut out by the Rangers' Eric Hurley. However, both the Burlington Bees and Wilmington Blue Rocks won their games behind some impressive performances by key prospects. RC recaps all of the day's minor league action inside.

The Omaha Royals were rained out on Wednesday in their game against Oklahoma. Things don't look promising for Thursday either, as it's expected to rain all day in eastern Nebraska.

For Royals fans, there wasn't much to see here tonight. Luke Hochevar struggled again, and even though he allowed only three earned runs, his own throwing error accounted for a couple of runs. The lone bright spot here was Irving Falu's 2-for-4 night to continue his recent hot streak.

Rowdy Hardy dominated yet again, even though he allowed a season-high two earned runs. Hardy has still not been defeated on the year through 10 appearances. Brett Bigler continued his streak of getting on base, extending it to nine games. The Blue Rocks checked in with six steals on the night, two of them converted by Jose Duarte, who has nine on the year. Wilmington will take the day off on Thursday before heading out to Myrtle Beach for a three game set.

Derrick Robinson had his best game of the year on Wednesday, registering three hits in four at bats, raising his average to .247. Jeff Bianchi had another two hit game, including an RBI in the fifth inning and a stolen base. Matt Campbell had another good outing, striking out six in five innings while allowing a single run. Mario Santiago threw the final four innings of the game, allowing no earned runs on only three hits.
