The Omaha Royals' victory on Sunday over the New Orleans Zephyrs was the only thing that kept the organization from getting completely skunked for a second straight day. Indeed, the O-Royals were the organization's only winner on Sunday behind a solid offensive attack. RC recaps the rest of the day's minor league action inside.

John Bale got the start and pitched a perfect inning to begin his second rehab assignment this year. Everyone in the O-Royals lineup hit safely, with six players logging at least two hits. Andres Blanco led the way with three base hits, while Mitch Maier contributed two, including a home run. Billy Butler helped the attack with a double, but uncharacteristically struck out three times. Tyler Lumsden (3-3, 5.74) will take the hill on Monday. _________________________________________________________

Danny Christensen had another tough outing, even though he did strike out five batters. His numbers were actually respectable as he entered the sixth inning, but after allowing a triple, a sac fly, and a single, he was relieved by Jarod Plummer with one out. However, Plummer let the inherited runner score and got shelled for four more runs in only a third of an inning, turning the game into a laugher. On the season, Plummer has very good walk and strike out totals, but has given up eight home runs in 24 innings. Mike Stodolka has once again very quietly put together a solid season, currently sporting a .295 average. Surprisingly, the left-handed batter has hit better against southpaws, as his OPS is nearly 200 points higher against lefties than righties. _________________________________________________________

The Blue Rocks suffered a tough loss on Sunday, falling to Myrtle Beach in extra innings. Starter Julio Pimentel didn't pitch too badly, but he didn't help himself by committing an error. Marc Maddox just continues to hit, stroking two more doubles on the day. Kila Kaaihue continues to rake as well, sporting a 1.079 OPS in the month of May. Wilmington will start a series with Kinston on Monday, handing the ball to Dan Cortes (0-3, 3.95). _________________________________________________________

Like the big league Royals, the Bees would certainly like to put this weekend in the rear-view mirror. On Sunday, the Bees dropped their third straight game to the Clinton LumberKings, 6-0. The Burlington offense only mustered three hits on the day while striking out nine times. Derrick Robinson has hit .311 in his last 10 games, despite striking out 11 times. Aaron Hartsock provided another solid outing in relief, and has only allowed one earned run in his last 20.2 innings. The Bees will look to avoid being swept in the four-game wraparound series tomorrow with Mario Santiago (1-3, 2.82) on the mound.
