The Omaha Royals scored three runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-5 win at Albuquerque on Tuesday night. Richard Lewis provided the big blast in the ninth, smacking a three-run homer over the left field wall. Shane Costa had two hits, as did Craig Brazell, who belted his minor league-leading 32nd home run of the year.

The Wichita Wranglers were downed in 10 innings on Tuesday night, 9-6. Carlos Rosa was roughed up, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks in 4.1 innings of work. Mike Stodolka continued his excellent season with a 1-for-3 effort, which included two more walks. Tim Bausher held down Arkansas for three innings in relief until the 10th, when he allowed three runs in the top of the inning to give the Travelers the lead.

The Royals’ 11th round pick from a year ago went five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out five. Josh Johnson went 2-for-3 with his first home run this year. Jose Duarte went 2-for-5 with a walk and showed off his rocket arm with an outfield assist.

The Burlington Bees won 4-2 on Tuesday with some help from the Lansing defense. The Lugnuts committed two errors in the top of the fifth that helped the Bees score two runs, which turned out to be the difference in the game. Kurt Mertins led the offense with a 4-for-5 night, raising his average to .263 for the season. Everett Teaford and Edward Cegarra held the Lansing offense to only two runs despite a total of 10 hits given up.

The Idaho Falls Chukars fell 11-6 on Tuesday night behind a disastrous start from Ben Norton. The Royals’ 24th round pick did not record a single out through seven batters, allowing six runs on six hits. Despite that, the Chukars did make the game interesting, closing the gap to two runs before Missoula pulled away. O.D. Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a home run to lead the offense. Adrian Ortiz had one hit in five plate appearances and stole his fourth base of the season.
