For the second straight night, Royals affiliates combined to go 3-4. However, a pair of pitchers had outstanding nights. Billy Buckner tossed seven shutout innings for the Omaha Royals, while Alex Caldera did the same for the Burlington Royals en route to a doubleheader split. RC has all the details inside in today's minor league report.

The Omaha Royals won their third straight game with a 2-0 shutout of Iowa. Billy Buckner tossed seven innings of three-hit ball, inducing 11 ground balls and striking out four. Ken Ray got into a little trouble in the eighth, but Neal Musser put out the fire with two strikeouts to end the inning. Justin Huber led the offense with a 2-for-4 night, and both hits were doubles.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks fell for the second straight night on Tuesday, 5-2. Rowdy Hardy was beat around for five runs in six innings, and picked up his fourth loss. Brett Bigler, who owns a .595 OBP in his last ten games, went 2-for-2 with two walks. Mario Lisson also stayed hot with 2-for-5 night, taking his hitting streak to 12 games.

The Burlington Bees fell on Tuesday, 5-3. Jason Godin didn't have his stuff or his control, allowing seven hits and walking four while allowing five runs in 4.2 innings. The Bees' offense pounded out 13 hits, three each from Derrick Robinson and Joe Dickerson, but only managed to push across three runs.

The Idaho Falls Chukars dropped to 9-6 on the second half with a 4-3 loss to Great Falls. Royals 24th round pick Ben Norton made the start for the Chukars, going four innings and allowing two runs on five hits. Adrian Ortiz went 2-for-5 with his 14th stolen base of the season, but was also caught stealing for the fourth time later in the game. Canadian third baseman Devery Van De Keere went 2-for-4 with a walk.

The Burlington Royals fell in game one of a doubleheader on Tuesday, 7-4. The B-Royals jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings combined gave Danville the win. Wilson Tucker went 2-for-4 with two doubles and knocked in three runs in game one.

The Burlington Royals shut out Danville in game two, 5-0. Alex Caldera tossed a complete game (seven innings) two-hitter, walking one and striking out seven to pick up his first professional victory. Wilson Tucker picked up two more hits and knocked in a run. Patrick Norris went 2-for-3 with a walk and swiped two bases, and he leads the Appalachian League with 24 stolen bases.

The AZL Royals picked up a 12-2 win on Tuesday with the help of a nine-run eighth inning. Danny Duffy made the start for the Royals, allowing two hits and one run while striking out nine in five innings. Michael Lehmann allowed one unearned run in the following three innings, but otherwise pitched well and picked up the win. Lifete Jose reached base six times with two hits and four walks, and he also stole his sixth base of the season.
