AA: Frisco 8, NW Arkansas 5
L: Rowdy Hardy (0-1, 6.41)
HR: Ernesto Mejia (7), Manny Pina (4)
Rowdy Hardy was hit hard Thursday, allowing four runs on three hits in 1.3 innings, suffering the loss in the Naturals 8-5 defeat to the RoughRiders. Mike Montgomery started but only pitched three innings, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out three. There is no word yet whether or not Montgomery suffered an injury that prompted his early exit, but he threw just 52 pitches before leaving the game. Blake Johnson threw the next three innings, allowing one run on five hits, before Hardy relieved him.
At the plate, Ernesto Mejia and Manny Pina smacked home runs, while Derrick Robinson went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk. Mike Moustakas was 0-for-1 with a strikeout, and was replaced in the bottom of the third by Anthony Seratelli after running into the wall chasing a foul ball. Moustakas’ exit was deemed as strictly precautionary.
NW Arkansas will attempt to salvage the finale of its three-game series with Frisco on Friday night.
