The O-Royals’ offense struggled Wednesday, only mustering four hits and drawing one walk while being shut out by the RedHawks, 6-0. Jai Miller smacked a double, and Kurt Mertins was 1-for-2 with a walk. Alex Gordon and Irving Falu were the only other Omaha players to collect a hit, while Rick Ankiel went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in his first rehab assignment.
John Parrish made his first rehab assignment as well, and only pitched 0.2 innings, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk. Anthony Lerew relieved him and allowed four runs on nine hits, but he did manage to fan seven batters.
Omaha has an off-day Wednesday before welcoming the Nashville Sounds to Rosenblatt.

Wilmington scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth as the Blue Rocks topped Kinston, 2-1. Nick Francis clubbed two doubles and drove in a run, and Jamie Romak collected a two-bagger of his own, extending his hitting streak to 16 games. Rey Navarro went 2-for-3, his third consecutive multi-hit game, while Eric Hosmer went 1-for-3 and drew a walk.
Chris Dwyer had another impressive performance, shutting out the Indians over seven innings. The lefthander only allowed four hits and struck out seven batters while walking none. Barry Bowden relieved him and allowed a run in the top of the eighth, but he pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the victory.
The Blue Rocks go for the sweep of the Indians Wednesday night.

The Bees’ bullpen allowed five runs in the top of the ninth, turning a 4-3 game into a 9-3 blowout. Bryan Paukovits threw six innings, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out five. Ryan Dennick relieved him in the seventh and allowed one run in 1.2 innings of work. Mitch Hodge recorded the final out of the eighth, but he was shelled in the ninth, allowing five on runs on two hits and four walks.
At the plate, Joey Lewis went 2-for-4, connecting on a double and driving in a runner, and Gerard Hall smashed a triple and scored two runs. Wil Myers was 0-for-3 on the day, but he did draw two walks and steal a base.
Burlington continues their series against Great Lakes Wednesday night.
