The Omaha offense was hot Tuesday, scoring 11 runs on 12 hits, powering them to an 11-8 victory over the Isotopes. Rick Ankiel and Marc Maddox both went 3-for-4, each smashing a double and a home run and driving in a combined five runs. Irving Falu and Scott Thorman both had multi-hit games, while Kila Ka'aihue and Alex Gordon showed patience at the plate, walking a combined seven times.
Bryan Bullington scattered seven hits across six innings, only allowing three runs while striking out three batters. Federico Castaneda and Chris Hayes struggled in relief, allowing a combined five runs over the final three innings, but the O-Royals held on to win.
The O-Royals play the third game of their four-game series against the Isotopes Wednesday night.

The Naturals split their doubleheader Tuesday, winning the first game, 4-2, and losing the second, 5-4. Mike Montgomery returned from the disabled list to start the first game, throwing 3.2 innings, only allowing two hits and one run while fanning three. Brandon Sisk relieved him, allowing one run on four hits over the final 3.1 innings, earning the win. In the second game, Eduardo Paulino pitched the first 4.2 innings, allowing two runs while striking out seven. Patrick Keating relieved him, allowing one run on one hit in one inning of work. Ben Swaggerty followed Keating and allowed two runs in the final inning for his third loss of the season.
In the first game, Johnny Giavotella went 2-for-3 with a walk, and Tim Smith went 1-for-3, driving in two runs. Nick Van Stratten, Derrick Robinson, and Mike Moustakas also recorded hits in the first game. In the second game, Clint Robinson went 3-for-4, going yard for his 9th home-run of the season and driving in two runs. Moustakas also hit a dinger to break a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning. Giavotella cracked a triple, and Paulo Orlando finished 2-for-4.
The Naturals wrap up their series against the Drillers Wednesday afternoon. With the win in the first game, the Naturals’ magic number for the first half Texas League North Division title is down to 3.

The Blue Rocks’ pitching staff was lit up Tuesday, allowing 10 runs and 15 hits as Wilmington lost to the Salem Red Sox, 10-6. Ivor Hodgson threw the first five innings, allowing six runs and 10 hits while getting tagged with his sixth loss of the season. Starling De La Rosa relieved Hodgson and pitched one inning, giving up three runs, two earned, on three hits. Henry Barrera followed De La Rosa, giving up one run on two hits in one inning of work. Barrera, who is on the Royals’ 40-man roster, pitched in his first game since undergoing Tommy John surgery last June.
On offense, Nick Francis went 3-for-4, smacking two doubles and driving in a pair of runs, and Adrian Ortiz also collected three hits and scored two runs. Jamie Romak was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, while Rey Navarro extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single in three at bats.
The Blue Rocks square up with the Red Sox again on Wednesday night.

Marimon had a sensational full-season debut, throwing the first six innings while allowing just three hits and fanning three. Dusty Odenbach, Rodolfo Encarnacion, and Ryan Dennick each threw an inning in relief, allowing only one hit over the final three innings.
At the plate, Gerard Hall clubbed two doubles and scored a run, while Wil Myers went 2-for-4 and raised his batting average to .297. Joey Lewis went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
