The O-Royals’ offense exploded on Thursday, combining for 22 hits and 15 runs in their 15-12 victory over the Isotopes. Ed Lucas went 4-for-6 with a home run and three RBIs, and Kila Ka'aihue hammered two doubles and a dinger. Scott Thorman went 3-for-6 with a double, home run, and five RBIs. Irving Falu also had three hits, including a triple. Kurt Mertins also roped a triple, while Jai Miller and David Lough also had multi-hit games.
Gaby Hernandez pitched the first six innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, including three home runs. Matt Herges and Josh Rupe were the next two pitchers, and they struggled as well, combining to allow six runs, five earned, on six hits in the next 2.1 innings. Greg Holland earned the victory by relieving Rupe and holding Albuquerque scoreless for 1.2 innings.
The O-Royals play their final game of their four-game series against Albuquerque Friday night.

The Naturals’ pitching staff was battered hard Thursday, allowing 14 hits, including 4 home runs, in a 12-9 loss to the Cardinals. Edgar Osuna threw four innings, allowing 9 runs on 9 hits, including three three-run home runs. Chris Chavez relieved the left-hander and shut out Springfield for two innings. Louis Coleman relieved Chavez and allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits over 2.2 innings.
Mike Moustakas paced the Naturals’ offense with three hits, including his 17th double of the season. Clint Robinson connected on a double and a home run, while Derrick Robinson and Nick Van Stratten turned in multi-hit games.
NW Arkansas continues their series against Springfield Friday night.

John Lamb threw his fifth quality start in six appearances for the Blue Rocks but settled for the no-decision as his club lost 3-2 to the Red Sox. Lamb tossed six innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits. The left-hander showed good control, ringing up six batters while only issuing one walk. Harold Mozingo followed Lamb and pitched a scoreless seventh, but he allowed an unearned run in the eighth to earn the loss.
At the plate, Patrick Norris went 2-for-3, and Adam Frost cracked a solo shot for his first home run of the season. Jamie Romak smashed a double, while Eric Hosmer and Rey Navarro contributed singles to the Blue Rocks’ attack.
Wilmington continues their road trip Friday when they travel to Winston-Salem to face the Dash.
