Just two of the six Royals affiliates in action on Sunday won their games, with the NW Arkansas Naturals and Burlington Royals emerging victorious. The Naturals' Ernesto Mejia slammed a home run while driving in three in NW Arkansas' 6-3 win over their in-state rival Arkansas Travelers. Click inside to read Sunday's entire report.

AAA: Oklahoma City 9, Omaha 3

Gaby Hernandez was battered Sunday, allowing eight runs in 5.1 innings in Omaha's 9-3 loss to Oklahoma City. Hernandez allowed 12 hits, including three two-run dingers and one solo shot. At the plate, Scott Thorman had three hits, including a double, and Kila Ka'aihue went yard for his 14th home run of the season, driving in two runs. Alex Gordon finished 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Omaha plays the third game of their four-game series against Oklahoma City Monday night.

The Naturals fell behind early but recovered to defeat the Travelers, 6-3. Ernesto Mejia led the offense with three hits, including a solo shot, while Nick Van Stratten went 2-for-4 and scored a run. Chris McConnell smashed his first home run of the season, but Mike Moustakas went hitless for his fourth straight game. Starting pitcher Eduardo Paulino surrendered single runs in the first two frames but settled down after that. He allowed just the two runs on four hits in 7.0 innings of work.

NW Arkansas plays their series finale against Arkansas Monday night.

Bryan Paukovits struggled in his first start for the Blue Rocks, allowing nine runs in just 2.2 innings as Wilmington lost to the Frederick Keys, 10-3. The right-hander did not issue any walks, but he was lit up for 10 hits. On offense, Adrian Ortiz had a multi-hit game, while Jamie Romak finished 1-for-3 with a double. Eric Hosmer went 1-for-3 with a walk but was ejected in the eighth inning for arguing after he was called out on strikes.

The Blue Rocks play their second game against the Keys Monday.

Burlington fell behind early and never recovered, falling 6-3 to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Sugar Ray Marimon threw five innings, allowing four runs on three hits and one walk. On offense, Carlo Testa had two hits, including his seventh home run of the year, while Wil Myers, Hilton Richardson and J.D. Alfaro each clubbed doubles.

The Bees return home Monday to start a three-game series against the Peoria Chiefs.

Chad Blauer followed Perez and struggled as well, allowing five runs on five hits in one inning of work. At the plate, Cameron Monger had three hits, including two doubles, while Geulin Beltre also had a multi-hit game.

The Burlington Royals’ offense powered the club to victory, collecting 14 hits in a 10-5 win over the Pulaski Mariners. Seth Furmanek went 3-for-3 with two home runs, while Ryan Stovall was 3-for-5 with two doubles and a homer. Alex McClure went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-base hits, and Alex Llanos finished 2-for-5. Crawford Simmons pitched the first four innings, allowing three runs on five hits, but Danny Hernandez earned the victory by pitching a scoreless fifth.

The Burlington Royals return home Monday to face the Bluefield Orioles.
