Omaha gained their first lead of the game in the ninth inning, but Josh Rupe allowed a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth in the O-Royals’ 4-3 loss to the RedHawks. Philip Humber pitched the first seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Greg Holland pitched a scoreless eighth before walking the first batter of the ninth, then Rupe allowed the home run. On offense, Kila Ka'aihue went 2-for-3, hitting a double and drawing a walk, while Jai Miller and Cody Clark smacked triples.
Omaha looks to avoid a sweep against Oklahoma City Tuesday night.

Mike Moustakas recorded a hit for the first time in five games, going 1-for-4. Ben Swaggerty made a spot start and allowed three runs on two hits and two walks in one inning of work. Rowdy Hardy allowed one run over the next three innings, while Blake Johnson and Patrick Keating pitched combined for five scoreless frames.

The hit was Perez's first on the day, while Romak smashed two doubles with a pair of RBIs. Buddy Baumann pitched the first five innings, allowing one run on six hits while striking out four. His piggyback partner Jairo Cuevas threw the next four innings and allowed two runs to score. Eric Basurto earned the victory by closing the game out with two scoreless innings, fanning five.

The Burlington offense was inept Monday, collecting only three hits in a 3-1 loss to Peoria. Wil Myers, Gerard Hall and Rene Oriental were the only Bees to record hits. Nick Wooley pitched well, allowing one run on four hits in seven frames. Scott Kelley allowed a walk and a RBI single in the top of the eighth, only recording one out before being lifted for Ryan Dennick.

The Royals used four pitchers after the left-hander, with Dylan Lindsay earning the victory for tossing a scoreless ninth. On offense, Jarrod Dyson had three hits, including a double, while Ysmelin Alcantara went 2-for-4, bashing his first home run of the year and driving in three runs. Jerico Blanco and Alexander Marquez also had multi-hit games for the Royals.
