Manauris Baez earned his first victory for the O-Royals, throwing six scoreless innings in Omaha's 5-0 win over Oklahoma City. The right-hander kept the ball in the lower part of the strike zone, forcing 12 groundouts, including two double plays. Matt Herges, Blaine Hardy, and Josh Rupe shut out the RedHawks over the final three innings. On offense, Kurt Mertins blasted a homer and a double, while Scott Thorman went 2-for-4, mashing a three-run homer in the fifth inning.
Omaha has Wednesday off before traveling to face the Iowa Cubs Thursday.

Rey Navarro went 2-for-3, cracking a double and driving in a run, while Nick Francis and Jamie Romak also had multi-hit games. John Lamb had his shortest outing as a Blue Rock, allowing one run on six hits in four innings of work, but he did ring up seven batters. Ivor Hodgson pitched well out of the bullpen, earning the victory by throwing 4.2 innings while allowing one run on two hits.
Wilmington returns home Wednesday to kick-off a three game series against the Lynchburg Hillcats.

On offense, Murray Watts smacked his third home run on the season, while Justin Trapp, Correy Figueroa, and Kevin David each had multi-hit games.

Edul Escobar roped a double, but Alex Llanos and Geoffrey Baldwin were the only other Royals to collect a hit. Mike Giovenco pitched the first four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while fanning six. Justin Mazur allowed the other two Orioles runs to cross the plate in the eighth inning.

Julio Pimentel made his second rehab start, pitching one inning while allowing one run on one hit and two walks. Young fireballer Yordano Ventura earned the win by pitching 5.1 innings in relief, holding the Reds to three runs (two earned) on five hits while fanning four. On offense, Dyson finished 2-for-5. Cameron Conner and Henry Moreno both added two hits apiece, while Chelsor Cuthbert and Jin-Ho Shin both finished 1-for-4.
The Royals travel to Peoria on Wednesday to face the AZL Mariners.
