Perez was 4-for-5 on Tuesday

The Omaha Royals lost in a blowout on Tuesday, while the NW Arkansas Naturals were the victims of a ninth inning rally by the Tulsa Drillers. The Wilmington Blue Rocks won their game, however, thanks to strong offensive performances by Salvador Perez and Nick Francis, along with an outstanding start by Danny Duffy. The O-Royals pitching staff was lit up Tuesday, giving up 17 hits in a 16-2 rout against the Sounds. Luis Mendoza allowed five runs and six hits over six innings before being lifted for Manauris Baez, who gave up four runs on three hits while only recording one out. Matt Herges recorded the last two outs in the seventh inning, giving up two runs on three hits before Scott Thorman allowed five runs in the bottom of the eighth. On offense, Kila Ka'aihue went 2-for-3, driving in both runs and homering in his second straight game. Ed Lucas had two hits, while Marc Maddox added a double.

Omaha continues its series against Nashville Wednesday night.

Henry Barrera allowed two runs in the ninth inning as the Naturals fell 7-6 to the Drillers. Edgar Osuna pitched 6.2 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits before Barrera finished the seventh and threw a scoreless eighth. He allowed one run to cross in the ninth before leaving with two outs and the bases loaded, but Patrick Keating walked the final batter to end the game. On offense, Eric Hosmer went 2-for-4 with a home run, and Anthony Seratelli also went deep for the Naturals. Derrick Robinson, Johnny Giavotella, and Tim Smith all collected two hits apiece, while Giavotella and Paulo Orlando cracked doubles.

NW Arkansas plays the second game of its series against Tulsa Wednesday.

Danny Duffy made a strong start for the Blue Rocks, helping them to defeat the Nationals, 8-2. The left-hander gave up two runs and two hits while fanning seven over five frames before Brendan Lafferty and Josh Worrell shut out the Nationals over the final four innings. At the plate, Salvador Perez went 4-for-5 with a double, while Nick Francis smacked a double and a home run. Ernesto Mejia also went yard, while Christian Colon finished with two hits and two RBIs.

Wilmington wraps up its series against Potomac on Wednesday.

The Chukars were swept by the Voyagers on Tuesday, falling 10-1 in the series finale. Brian Peacock allowed seven runs, but only one earned, in 2.1 innings before Greg Billo followed with 1.2 shutout innings. Jason Mitchell allowed one run in the fifth inning, Chad Blauer held the Voyagers scoreless for the next two frames, and Alex Rivers allowed two runs in the ninth. Tim Ferguson led the offense with two hits, while Justin Trapp and Reggie Taylor both added doubles.

Idaho Falls has an off day Wednesday before returning home to face the Ogden Raptors.

The Burlington Royals snapped a three-game losing streak, defeating the Johnson City Redbirds, 6-4. Ryan Stovall went 2-for-4 with a double, while Anthony Howard connected on a triple. Alex McClure added a double and drove in two runners. Gates Dooley allowed an unearned run in five innings, giving up five hits while striking out seven batters before Jonathon Keck allowed three runs on two hits over the next 1.2 innings. J.J. Leaper held the Cardinals scoreless over the final 2.1 innings, recording his first save on the season.

Burlington plays its series finale Wednesday against Johnson City.
