The four clubs in action on Wednesday split their games, as both Omaha and Idaho Falls were victorious. In Omaha, Billy Buckner took a no-hitter into the 8th inning, fueling already rampant rumors that he may replace Scott Elarton in the Royals rotation. Wichita lost a heartbreaker after finishing Tuesday night's suspended contest. RC covers the rest of the day's action inside in today's report.

Despite only scratching out four hits, the Omaha Royals crawled to a 3-1 victory over New Orleans. Of course it wasn't the bats that were the story, as Billy Buckner took a no hitter into the eighth inning. Buckner gave up a double to end the story, but it was a great start nevertheless. The Royals were reportedly watching his start closely, since a rotation spot was opened up by Scott Elarton‘s placement on the DL. Ryan Braun only needed ten pitches to notch his fourth save in a Omaha uniform.

The Wichita Wranglers lost a heartbreaker as they finished up Tuesday's night game early on Wednesday afternoon. Luke Hochevar posted one of his better starts of the year, going seven innings while allowing five hits and striking out five. Jarod Plummer was dominant out of the bullpen, striking out five in three innings. Mike Stodolka kept the game going in the top of the ninth with a clutch homer to right field with two outs. Wichita took the lead with a Chris Lubanski home run in the top of the 13th, but Jason Cromer coughed up three runs in the bottom of the inning to give Tulsa the victory.

The Wranglers lost another close one in their regularly scheduled contest, this time 2-1. Leo Nunez had a tremendous start, allowing only one hit and striking out five in 5.2 innings. Carlos Rosa could not hold the lead that Nunez provided however, allowing two runs in 2.1 innings. Kila Kaaihue and Irving Falu each recorded two hits in the losing effort.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks had the day off on Wednesday as part of the all-star break for the Carolina League. They will resume play on Thursday as they host the Frederick Keys.

The Burlington Bees had the day off on Wednesday as part of the all-star break for the Midwest League. They will return to action at home on Thursday as the square off against the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

The Idaho Falls Chukars pulled out an impressive victory with another 11-inning victory, taking this one 10-7. The Chukars, down 7-4 in the ninth, scored three runs thanks in part to an error by the Casper third baseman. They scored three more in the top of the eleventh to take the victory. Devery Van De Keere, a 48th round selection out of Louisiana-Lafayette, moved the other side of the diamond for Wednesday's game and had two singles on the night. Anthony Seratelli enjoyed a two hit night as well, and 25th rounder Clint Robinson smacked three hits.

The Burlington Royals split their two-game series with the Danville Braves, losing on Wednesday, 6-4. Eleventh round selection David Lough went 3-for-4 with a couple of doubles, and 33rd round pick Wilson Tucker provided the big blast of the night with a two-run homer. The B-Royals open up a two-game set with the Greeneville Astros at home on Thursday night.
