That is one of Ned's deals. When Scott Downs was signed, he pitched like 4 days in a row. Is he still with the team now?
While I like Colon getting multiple days in the lineup, I wonder if Infante's HR last night made Ned rethink giving him a day off.
Like Perez getting a rest. Ned does play lots of his bench guys on the same day - travel day and Sundays. Do you think who is pitching makes a difference on when Perez plays? Kratz has reputation of being good behind the plate.
I'm fine with this lineup. Having Willingham/Colon makes it easier to stomach when some of the starters need a day off. I don't know if the numbers back me up, but I don't think there's much dropoff when Dyson starts over Cain. As long as Ibanez isn't in the lineup, I'm happy.
I'm not sure that I'd put together this lineup but I'm not the manager. As long as the Royals win, I don't care if Ned puts Rusty Kuntz in the lineup. As if Ned cares, but I'll hold him accountable for overall results, not every decision made along the way.
With Shark, I don't mind Dyson over Cain. Dyson has seemed more patient this year and Cain will get in the game eventually, anyway around the 8th or 9th inning. Infante and Sal resting makes sense before the road trip. Esky at 2 is meh. I'd rather Dyson OR Colon in that spot. All that is pretty irrelevant if we don't work counts and get to their pen. Although Shark will give up lots of runs every once and a while.
